Yoga Classes

Carrie is certified with the Yoga Alliance as an experienced registered yoga teacher with advanced training: ERYT500. She is also certified as a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.) An instructor with a deep teaching history in Sacramento’s Yoga community, she distills the influences of various yoga teacher trainings and styles beginning with her original 1999 training in classical Ashtanga (meaning “eight limb” yoga and not drawing from the Mysore tradition) continuing through her most recent training in 2019 in Vinyasa and Ashtanga (very much informed by the Mysore tradition along with more contemporary theory). While her teaching reflects the integration of various influences within and beyond yoga including elements of somatic, Eastern, and Western psychology and principles of holistic healing, she weaves together classical postures with creative variations aiming to bridge sound physical mechanics to subtle awareness for a multi-dimensionally rich practice.

Her alignment-refined flow and hatha flow classes have been experienced as somatically and energetically satisfying mind-body meditations stimulated by her nuanced language and cueing with multiple modifications/variations offered to reduce or increase the level of intensity, accommodate injuries or special needs, and provide for as challenging or moderate a practice as is desired.

Carrie is currently offering weekly yoga classes at two locations in Sacramento. Her teaching schedule with Sacramento Yoga Center is for hybrid classes, so each class can be attended in person, via livestream on Zoom, or via a Zoom video recording that can be viewed at a later time than the live class. Her teaching schedule with Yoga Shala Arden is for in-person only classes. See class schedules below.

If interested in private yoga sessions with Carrie, see her Custom Offerings. See Workshops & Events for upcoming yoga-related workshops.

I love Carrie’s classes. I feel amazing afterwards!

Carrie’s classes foster more physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth than any others I’ve experienced…
